Being one of the largest automakers in India, Ford is plotting to return to the automotive market with five new impressive cars by early next year. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the upcoming Ford cars in India 2020-2021.

1. Ford EcoSport 2021

Expected Launch: June 15, 2021

Expected Price: Rs. 9 Lakh

Firstly leaked in Brazil, the Ford EcoSport 2021 has become one of the most-awaited upcoming Ford cars in India 2020-2021. The vehicle will join the list of first models to be launched under the joint venture of Mahindra and Ford, which are the two biggest carmakers in India. The new-gen Ford EcoSport will witness notable cosmetic changes in comparison to the previous model. While the current EcoSport has been highly appreciated thanks to its sporty and premium appearance, the new-gen model will boast of both premium design and innovative features. Specifically, the upcoming subcompact SUV will be equipped with a new front grille, newly-designed alloys, and LED fog lamps and LED taillamps. Inside, the Ford EcoSport 2021 will offer more comfort thanks to its large touchscreen Sync 4 infotainment, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and spacious cabin.

Another reason to get excited for the upcoming Ford Ecosport 2021 is that the new Ecosport model will bring in  Mahindra’s mStallion petrol engine. It was exactly the new engine that Mahindra introduced earlier at the 2020 Auto Expo. Besides, the new Ecosport will come with a 6- speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional dual-clutch (DCT) automatic gearbox. At an attractive price of 9 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom), the Ford EcoSport 2021 is expected to take on the rivals of Suzuki Jimny Toyota Raize, and the upcoming Honda compact SUVs if it’s launched here.

2. Ford Mustang 2021

Expected Launch: February 01, 2021

Expected Price: Rs. 75.00 Lakh

If you have been a car lover for long enough, you must have heard of the famous Ford Mustang. Ford’s pony car had become an instant success when being introduced to the Indian automotive market in mid-2016. The automaker had reported remarkable sales figures of over 450 models thanks to its attractive appearance, strong performance, good driving manners, and a comfortable cabin. Recently, enthusiastic fans of this specific vehicle have been over the moon as the Ford Mustang 2021 is joining the list of upcoming Ford cars in India 2020-2021. In comparison to the previous model, the new Mustang is likely to come with some subtle but needed modifications. These in-and-out adjustments will provide the new Mustang with more luxurious and stable feels and better quality. For instance, the Ford Mustang 2021 features newly-added safety equipment and a new digital instrument cluster along with a modern infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Besides, the new Ford model will also sport different drive modes.

Mechanically, the Ford Mustang 2021 will be powered by a 5.0-litre V8. While the American V8s are usually known for their lazy nature and decent torque, this engine will be able to reach 7500 RPM.  Being put in the high-end segment, the new Ford Mustang is likely to enter the Indian market at around Rs. 75  lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).

Besides, the list of the five upcoming Ford cars in India in 2020-2021 will also include the Ford Fiesta Hatchback, Ford Focus, and Ford Mondeo. While expected launches of these models are yet to be disclosed, their price range is likely to be between 6 lakh and 15 lakh. The lowest price will be on the Fiesta hatchback when the highest will be on the Mondeo.

The forthcoming year seems to mark a vibrant period for the Indian automotive market as many new cars are anticipated to be launched, including the launches of upcoming Ford cars in India 2020-2021.
