The facelifted Mahindra TUV 300 is the first upcoming car under 15 lakhs on our list. Spotted in its commercial shoot-to-be, the upcoming Mahindra sub-compact SUV will come with a few tweaks regarding its appearance. In particular, the new TUV300 will sport a more sophisticated and elegant look thanks to its brand new six-slate front grille, redesigned bumper, sleeker tail lamp, and a set of new alloy wheels.

Apart from that, the cabin will also notice a host of newly-added features. To name a few, there will be a more modern 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple Carplay and  Android, new automatic climate control, and cruise control. Meanwhile, the facelift will carry over such elements as the keyless entry, manual AC, height-adjustable driver seat, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a camera.

The next upcoming car under 15 lakhs is the Volkswagen Taigun, a brand new compact SUV built on the brand’s India-spec MQB A0-IN platform. Initially revealed at the Auto Expo 2020, the vehicle grabbed the attention of many domestic car enthusiasts thanks to its striking and heavily-localized presence. Visually, the Taigun 2021 will receive sleek LED headlamps and taillamps that get along well with remarkably huge machine-finished wheels. Meanwhile, it is expected to sport a spacious, comfortable cabin equipped with multiple premium features like a 9.2-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof.

Mechanically, the new Volkswagen Taigun 2021 is likely to employ an outgoing 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 115PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Transmission-wise, it is expected to be offered with a 6-speed MT and get an optional 7-speed DSG. Once launched, the upcoming Taigun will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and the Skoda Kushaq.

3. Tata Hexa BS6

Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, the upgraded Tata Hexa will top off our list of upcoming cars under 15 lakhs in India that is likely to be launched in 2021. In its BS6 avatar, the Tata Hexa will witness some minor modifications. To be specific, it will boast of an extra muscular look, and the cabin will come with a brand-new fashionable black-beige interior layout.

Performance-wise, the new Hexa SUV will take advantage of the current 2.2-litre Varicor engine delivering 156PS of power and 400Nm of torque, albeit BS6-compliant. It will be available in either manual, automatic, or all-wheel-drive variants. While the BS6 Hexa was first said to have arrived in the domestic car market last year, its launch has been delayed to this year due to the Covid pandemic. For now, the date of launch is yet to be known. However, we expect the upgraded Tata Hexa will come at an estimated price of INR 14 lakh on June 14.
